This evening, after dark, I was returning to Ozark. Hidden alongside the road was a darkened Pinckard cruiser.

It is my opinion that he should have been cruising the "town streets" rather than seeking revenue along 231.
I know if I lived in Pinckard I'd rather he pay attention to my neighborhood.

    JMHO.

Something I've stewed over for a long time ...

Roadside Public Safety would be vastly increased if instead of cruising/ looking for speeders LEO would park at crossroads serviced by traffic lights. Everyday I observe folks running red-lights (and I don't mean those who have to make a quick decision - rather those who aren't even close yet run thru it).

That I would support (but not those enforced by a simple camera). Now go get 'em.

Oh lord, please help us. Yesterday Wrascal was a Lawyer preaching to me what "He/She" thought the elements of proof were in the Beasley/Hawlett case. Today, she is a Traffic Cop.

An overnight stay at the Holiday Express Inn will do that to you.

I didn't cut down the cherry tree! I have to be honest Wrascal. I used selective enforcement techniques on Fort Rucker. At high volume vehicular times (Rush hours) I would use marked cars on 3rd Avenue, straightaways at Enterprise Gate. "Let the see you, they will obey" and they did. My policy was to "Police Friendly" work for the people.

Muchas Gracias (I had to use google to spell that) for playing good traffic cop. I understand that stopping speeders often provides more than just a revenue ticket (dope busts, etc), and I'm fine with that. Just don't call it what its not, safety. As I said earlier - while sitting at lights /waiting to proceed I often see folks running them; I've also often clenched the wheel when I stop for a changing light and the following cars eat me up - or even go around me (Yes).

To my way of thinking they are a real danger, much more so than someone doing 20 MPH over the limit (open roads, not residential, schools, etc).

Thank the lord no one runs a Police Department based on what you think. History shows you don't have a real good record on "Thinking" and deciding things well. Want me to throw out 20-25 examples?

If you would just generate the cliff notes I'd be sure and scrutinize them.

I refuse to get in a battle of wits with a unarmed person.
