Have you ever wanted to call someone out on their spelling or lack of capitalization on these things? What is the proper protocol for posting in a forum? Shouldn't there at least be proper punctuation? If you are going to post something that you want to be taken seriously, then you should type "seriously". I mean, come on, my three year old can speak better than some of the people that post on here can type. That's sad...

Yes Mom. Sometimes it is frustrating, and a bit irritating to read posts that are filled with grammatical and spelling errors. It does make an impression. I agree that these posts are most likely not taken seriously due to the fact that the person posting in such a manner does not have basic communication skills or has not made the effort to check themselves. Most everyone will overlook the casual error. Things happen. That pesky drop of catsup that will jump out of a hotdog onto a man's tie, or the inadvertent pick in a woman's hosiery, is similar to the occasional "typo". These things do have a "first impression" impact, but are mostly overlooked. However, the type of posts you are referring to are made by people who are usually not well informed, do not care to take the time to make a proper effort, and do not research the truth about what they post. It does absolutely no good to "call" them on it. That only gives them something to argue about on their level. My advice is to move forward and take them for what they are. Find meaningful issues to debate with people who can make a case on fact in a comprehensive manner. Seek out posts that interest you. Did you find my error(s)?
