I bought my ticket to BamaJam for Friday night.  I noticed that there had been many improvements since last year.  It has gotten more commercialized and the efficiency for creating revenue has increased.  I was stunned by the amount of beer sales... lots of drinking going on.  The Ronnie Gilley folks have refined the venue, indeed.  They even added a golf course out there!  What? ..a golf course, yes.  I was told that it was built to enable them to obtain some type of permit that would allow expanded hours for sale of alcohol.  I don't know for sure, just rumor... what I was told.  But, what I do know is that Mr. Gilley paraded his politicians out on stage to place them on display.  Mr. Gilley sounded as though he may have been imbibing a bit when he got out on stage and started hooting and hollaring about how we ain't gonna talk politics out here, we can't talk politics... but in November, Harri Anne Smith, Harri Anne, Harrie Anne... then it was Terry Spicer, then Mayor Boswell.  Mr Gilley was clearly feeding his own ego by showing off who he has bought and paid for.  It is understandable and reasonable for the Enterprise Mayor or maybe someone from the Coffee County administration to welcome the crowd to the area, but given the situation, it did not help the Mayor.  Mayor Boswell would have been better served by delivering a short professional message by video on the three hugh screens that were simulcast.  This could have been done by using about three focal locations in the area as a backdrop, and giving a welcome message and urge for safety.  It would have represented the City of Enterprise better than coming out on Ronnie Gilley's leash.

Hmmm, and the Feds show up with arrest warrants for Senator Smith and Mr. Gilley. I didn't tip them off, I promise. Nobody reads the stuff on here anyway, right? This whole Federal Indictment thing stinks. This makes the State of Alabama and the Wiregrass Area look bad.

I just heard that there will be NO BamaJam 2011. Dang It! I immediately went to the BamaJam website and it is not there. I looked on the BamaJam Facebook page and there has been no activity since November. Hmmmm, things ain't lookin' good. Can anyone give any insight into what the facts are? What is going on? Are they going to have it or not? I also heard that Ronnie Gilley's buddy George Jones has moved from Enterprise back to Nashville. Can anyone shed light on what is really going on with the BamaJam thing?

Terry Spicer pleads guilty to bribery charges... Imagine That!!!

http://www2.dothaneagle.com/news/20...r-2708880/

The former State Legislator was serving as the Superintendant of Elba City Schools at the time he plead guilty to felony bribery charges. So, what does the City School Board do? Discharge him? NO! The Elba City School Board created another position so Mr. Spicer could continue to get paid as a convicted felon and stay eligible for his big fat retirement package. Government jobs are cool aren't they! He now holds the title of Operations Director instead of Superintendant. What are we teaching our children?!?
