It's all about jobs! How dare Bob Riley for putting these people out of work! It's all about jobs! Bull*%@#! IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY!!! Everyone arguing for the gaming industry is either connected to the money or has bought in to the pitch delivered by the gaming investors. The politicians in Houston County have been captured. Mark Culver... bought and paid for. Even Harri Anne Smith, who seemed like such a sweet banker's daughter with values and conservative ideals has been taken by the political pressure and opportunity for money and influence. It's easy to like someone and be influenced by someone who is cool. Ronnie Gilley is a promoter that has the attention and favor from the country music stars that have invested their time and money with him. He seems cool! He even puts on "free" concerts and stuff... cool, man! It's ALL ABOOUT THE MONEY! I even heard sweet little 'ol Ami Pollard on the radio the other day talking down Mrs. Riley and going on about how the governor is doing something to hurt the "people" of this State. It sounded like she had gotten her talking points right off one of Rickey Stokes' commentaries. Politics is nasty! It is a shame to see nice people getting twisted around in it, as they become just as soiled as the real weasels creating the stink. Roger Bedford is one of the slickest, prettiest, stinkiest weasels in the State of Alabama. This whole gaming thing is not about creating jobs in Alabama. It about the money... the money for the fat cats and politicians.

Electronic Bingo, Gaming, Slot Machines or any such thing does not create wealth or economic prosperity for a regional area. It does not manufacture a product that can be sold or exported. It does not bring in money. It is a shift. It is a shift of money, from the masses, through a few, to one. It could be called entertainment, at best. But, we cannot entertain ourselves into prosperity. The shift of money comes from all the people, the people that are easily separated from their money. ( The people that can least afford it.) But hey, this is America, if you want to be irresponsible; you have the freedom to do it to a point. All this money that is spent is collected by the few, the ones that have "jobs". The people working for the one, the one group of investors that are making the real money think things are ok, in that they have a job. IT"S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! The few that are allowed to run the gaming make ALL the money. It's money that was ALREADY HERE. The money is already in this region. There are better ways to create tourism and generate jobs. Gaming is a monopoly concept. There can only be one 'house". The gaming business relies on politicians that will protect them from the law and competition to prosper. That means they have to pay for this protection. It's not much different than when organized crime had the major control on gaming. Now it's just called organizing your politicians. Ronnie Gilley has done a masterful job of promoting his agenda, and demonizing anyone who would try and question the legality of it. There are many who have been manipulated. Media types, politicians, and common folk alike, have been sold. There are so many different angles and viewpoints that can be argued about this subject. People on either side can look foolish doing it. Our First Lady proved that when she lowered herself by getting into a shouting contest with folks in the front yard in Montgomery. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out, but gambling is a vice. You can call it charity bingo, you can change the name to whatever you want... it's a vice. Letting just a few to have the opportunity to make a killing on a such a situtation is wrong, and not good for Alabama.
