| I know time is nearing for the vigil of J.B. Beasley and Tracie Hawlett.Nine years soon.No word yet on the investagation, and I know some people will forget,I wont.I have always wanted too know of the guy who had confessed to the crime, what became of this?Anyway, hope people will not forget JB and Tracie.I hope that OPD and the Sheriff dept are still investagating this. | | |

| I was thinking about them this weekend. My daughter and I watched the "Haunting Evidence" from last year. So sad. I just don't understand why they can't get a lead to break this case. My heart goes out to those who loved them so much and feel the loss every moment of every day. | | | |

| The other night I was watching a cold case program where a little girl had been murdered in her home. No sign of entry was found and the police thought a family member killed her and everyone was interviewed. The police decided the 11 y/o brother killed his sister and he was questioned for a couple of days as he cried and said he didn't do it. The police were relentless and finally the boy asked them to tell him how he killed his sister because he didn't remember doing it, he was so grieved. The police stayed on him and finally he told them that he would lie if they would let him go. He confessed to killing his sister and said he and a friend got mad at her and killed her. The boy and his friend were arrested for the murder. Meanwhile a neighbor had encountered a homeless person in the neighborhood and helped him by feeding him and giving him some clothes... The neighbor kept the dirty clothes and turned them over to police. The police had their murderer and put the clothes away. The defense lawyer learned of this and got the clothes tested for DNA via court order and the girls DNA were on the clothes. The man wasn't arrested. As the defense blew the DA's evidence away the charges were dropped against the boy and his friend. The police stopped investigating the murder. A new detective came onto the scene sometime later and started going through the case. His coworkers told him that messing with that case was suicide for his career as it had been restricted. The detective went undercover for the investigation and built a case against the homeless guy. The police had said the homeless guy said he had been in the girl's house and it's possible he got the blood on him by brushing against some bloody places. The detective asked for forensics help in finding out if it were a transfer smear or not and it wasn't. The detective continued to build a case and he knew this homeless killed the girl and when he had all he needed he went to his superiors who fired him. He went to the state who investigated the evidence and forced the police to investigate the homeless man. He was found, in jail, and he confessed... The state fired the DA and some of the police superiors.... They didn't want to open themselves up to a lawsuit so they refused to work the case and find the killer. The homeless man went to trail and was sentenced to life. The boy, now an adult, and his family sued... I am not sure but I wonder if Barrentine might could sue if the police arrested someone else for the murder. Are the police positive Barrentine did it and are just bidding their time? Are they concerned about being sued for charging the wrong guy and arresting the right one will open them up for a lawsuit? There are two very good suspects out there and neither have been arrested, one is said to have confessed, off the record, but he was 17 at the time and didn't know JB. The other was very close to JB.... I wonder why LE isn't investigating both of them using a fine toothed comb? It would seem that the guy they believe did it would have been arrested by now this includes Barrentine... Then maybe kids like to make themselves look badder than they are while psycho men with a lust for girls feel big and bad with those girls... Makes you wonder all the way around.... I can only imagine the roller coaster ride the families have endured, hope, no hope, hope no hope... Promises being broken, suspects being ignored and 9 years later still no arrests. At least the ABI worker is no longer on the case but he left after conforming everyone to his notions which have yielded nothing after being on the case for almost 9 years... The credibility seems to lie with the murder(s) and that's bad... A kid outsmarting the police for this long? A man who can't get a woman without paying for it and left to seek out girls enjoys rubbing the noses of the police.... Go figure! It's a shame but I believe this case will be solved but it will come from someone that can think for themselves as well as outside of the box! My heart and prayers remain with the families of the girls! | | | |

| Hello Venus, good seeing you.You know Venus.I would like too know if the kid that confessed off the record, was he ever given a lie detector test? The other one you mentioned, well, gives me the creeps, for he saw her the girls the night they were murdered.Doesnt mean he did it,but something is so wrong with this case.Barrentine to this day may have the key,his lawyer got him released.Just always have thought he knew something..Was there a coverup? OPD says no,we are suppose too take their word. Why would a 17 yr old that ran from her to another state confess off the record? Why? Was it because he wasnt read his rights? So the confession doesnt hils up? I believe Barrintine knew more than was printed in the paper, but, his lawyer saw a chance too get him released and charges dismissed..I believe he saw something..I also believe the killer was from here or knew the area well enough to find the place to leave the girls on Herring..I believe that there is someone that can solve this case..just hope he will. | | | |

| All I know about the one who confessed is that he was interviewed by OPD and apparently had his story mixed up and was dismissed. OPD and ABI's Tucker interviewed him several times and last year Tucker wanted to work on him again and OPD with new people are retracing Tucker's belief's. I am told OPD has visited the one who confessed a few times this last year. The one who confessed is getting married if he hasn't married already.
The other one that we spoke of.... It's said Tucker liked him and refused to look at him. There is so much circumstantial stuff against him but what Tucker says is law, lol. Sad. The grapevine still thinks OPD is trying to cover something be it their rears or the killer's. | | | |

| "Had his story mixed up" How can someone say they murdered someone, and it be a mixup?I do believe and have always that something just isnt right with this whole thing.I do believe the investagation was botched from the beginning. | | | |

| Ok,I went and weed eated all around the crosses the best I could.I didnt cut the grass with lawn mower, for I couldnt get it out of my trunk, lol. It was stuck.Anyways, will try to get there early in the morning to cut the grass, will use my hubbys truck. He works late so sleeps till nine or so..I didnt remove any of the old flowers.I couldnt, because Tracies Mom and others put them there, and if they have their private vigil at 5,well,they may come there to fix up and see the things gone.I went and got flowers, long floral ropes, they are so pretty, vases, and candles.I will go there on Thursday and put them there.I wasnt sure if the families do their flowers and all at the private vigil.Anyway it will be pretty.I wasnt scared to be there, just sad,so sad.All will be nice by Thursday, and hope people will come to show we havent forgotten. | | | |
